Mariah Carey And Maybach Music Group Are ‘Triumphant’
By Omar Paredes
Mariah Carey is teaming up with two of Maybach Music Group’s finest emcees on her much-anticipated new single ‘Triumphant’.
The award-winning singer took to Twitter early Saturday saying,
Of course MC is no stranger to hip-hop collaborations. Over the years she’s featured some of rap’s biggest names on her records including Diddy, Mase, Jadakiss, Snoop Dogg, and Jay-Z, among others.
MC followed up the announcement with another tweet saying,
“I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention #WIN.”
MC should be feeling pretty triumphant right about now. Word is that she’s in talks to become a judge on American Idol for something in the neighborhood of $17 million.
Expectations are high for this new single, which was written and produced by the singer and her long time collaborators, Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox who penned her previous hits ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Don’t Forget About Us.’
‘Triumphant’ is expected to be the first single off MC’s upcoming album, her first non-holiday themed since 2009′s Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel.
In a career spanning two decades, MC has sold over 200 million albums worldwide and has had eighteen #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, second only to The Beatles.
Switching gears, Rick Ross and his camp have also been hard at work in the studio. Having already dropped their MMG Self Made, Vol. 2 collaborative effort last month, Ross’s highly anticipated album, God Forgives, I Don’t is slated for a July 31 release. The first single off the album is titled ‘Touch N’ Go,’ and features R&B crooner Usher.
Ross also makes a guest appearance on Usher’s current single ‘Lemme See’ off his new album, Looking For Myself.
Meek Mill’s debut album, Dreams and Nightmares is scheduled to drop on August 28. His first single, ‘Amen’ was recently released and features Young Money artist Drake.
