Paulina Rubio Loses Lesbian Slander Case
By Michael Lopez
If you ever print a story about Paulina Rubio, make sure not to question her sexuality. It seems the Mexican pop diva got pretty peeved at some Spanish TV shows that insinuated she was a lesbian. So much so, that she took them to court! But interestingly, a judge just dismissed all three of her cases.
Pau Pau was hoping to collect up to $750,000 for the “slanderous” accusations, but wound up with nothing but legal fees. It seems the programs ¿Dónde Estás Corazón?, Aquí Hay Tomate and Crónicas Marcianas did nothing wrong in the eyes of the law.
According to the judge, the Spanish gossip shows only “insinuated” about a Rubio lesbian relationship and never went so far as to confirm a story. Of course, the news certainly brought them A LOT of viewers.
The three programs alleged that Pau Pau had romanced models Ingrid Casares and Eglantina Ziggs back in the early 2000′s. We’re actually surprised Rubio was so sensitive about the issue, particularly since she’s been such a vocal advocate for gay rights.
Do you think Paulina should have taken those shows to court? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
